There is actually a brilliant concept somewhere in this clever post about a dream. If you think of the name as an encryption identity key… Next Generation Fax Machine « Feeding Squirrels On My Way To Work
In the dream I had this morning, a coworker stopped by my office and asked if I’d gotten the fax number from the law firm. No, actually, I’d forgotten to do that. I started to call the law firm, but half-way through dialing the number, the firm’s receptionist answered. That shocked me. How did she do that? I was so shocked that I fumbled through the explanation of what I wanted. “I’m, um, looking for the fax number in order to get records. Um, you know, so I can verify the dates of my employment there.” The receptionist said the names of three of the firm’s partners. I didn’t understand what she was talking about, but I didn’t want to seem stupid. I asked her to spell those names. She spelled them, and as I wrote them down, I understood that the firm had some new sort of fax machine that accepted words, not numbers – more like a URL than a phone number. End of dream.
