By way of Startup Squad, I discovered Middlepost and also Docusign. I will do separate posts on each as time allows, but had a bit of a comment on their post, that I wanted to post here. I have not reviewed the services for comparison and here am just commenting on the market in general and the need for the technology.
Middlepost is bit late to the document collaboration party. But never mind they are going ahead with their product launch that enables online document creation, revision, and signing. While none of the existing services provide these combined set of features, there are not very many users who need all of them at the same place either.
Middlepost is playing the middle ground by trying to combine the features from both to offer tracking of the changes, comments, finally getting the documents digitally signed. A tough sell I would say, since market for online contract management tool that also needs collaboration features ain’t going to be that big.
I could not disagree more. In fact I think that collaboration with signing is the perfect mix of features and something all providers in this space should consider. Every contract gets marked up and edited before being signed. Why not put that all in one place where it is trackable and useful?
